The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has issued a strong warning to the public about fraudulent activities involving fake contract offers and special financial interventions.

The apex bank has clarified that these offers are not genuine and are being circulated by scammers to deceive unsuspecting individuals.

In a statement signed by Hakama Sidi Ali, Acting Director of Corporate Communications, the CBN emphasized that it has ceased direct development interventions and special project funding.

Therefore, any claims of contract awards or financial assistance from the bank should be treated with utmost suspicion.

The bank further cautioned the public against believing information disseminated through social media platforms or other news outlets that purport to be from the CBN. Such claims are fraudulent and should be ignored.

The CBN said it remains dedicated to its core mandate of ensuring monetary and price stability, as well as a sound financial system in Nigeria. The bank then urged the public to exercise caution and report any suspicious activities to the appropriate law enforcement agencies.
