NCC Inaugurates National IPv6 Council
In a significant move to modernize Nigeria’s digital landscape, the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) officially inaugurated the members of the National Internet Protocol Version 6 (IPv6) Council.
The event brought together key leaders in the telecommunications and technology sectors, including Dr. Aminu Maida, Executive Vice Chairman/CEO of the NCC, and Mr. Muhammed Rudman, National President of the IPv6 Council. This council is tasked with overseeing the transition to IPv6, a critical upgrade that provides a nearly limitless number of IP addresses, ensuring that Nigeria’s growing digital economy remains scalable, secure, and globally competitive.
The inauguration ceremony featured prominent officials such as Engr. Abraham Oshadami and Barr. Rimini Makama of the NCC, alongside industry veterans Dr. Chris Uwaje and Mr. Adesola Akinsanya, marking a collaborative effort between the government and private sector to enhance the nation’s internet infrastructure.
