The federal government has reassured Nigerians that they will overcome current challenges and experience significant economic progress and prosperity.

Senator Abubakar Atiku Bagudu, the Minister of Budget and Economic Planning, highlighted that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s economic reforms aims to rejuvenate macroeconomic policies to boost revenue generation and establish a transparent foreign exchange market.

Despite recognizing the hardships faced by Nigerians, the government is actively working to alleviate their suffering he said.

During an oversight visit by the House of Representatives Committee on National Planning and Economic Development, Bagudu urged a review of their mandate for successful outcomes and praised the National Assembly for increasing the 2024 Budget unilaterally.

The Committee’s focus on strengthening the country’s budget system, attracting investments, and improving citizens’ well-being aligns with the government’s agenda.

They presented a proposal to streamline budget processes, enhance the Ministry’s work plan and budget, and contribute to economic growth and development.

The visit also included examination of expenditures and performance indicators from the 2023 Appropriation year, identifying strengths, weaknesses, and challenges.
