The Office of the Accountant General of the Federation (OAGF) has clarified that a technical network glitch during salary processing, particularly affecting accounts domiciled with Zenith Bank Plc, led to the non-receipt of June 2025 salaries by some government employees across various Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs).
A statement released by the OAGF on Friday, signed by Mr. Bawa Mokwa, Director (Press and Public Relations), confirmed that the federal government is aware of recent complaints concerning the delayed payment of some workers’ June salaries.
The OAGF said it is “currently works closely with relevant service providers and stakeholders to guarantee that the failed payments are reprocessed without additional delay.”
The OAGF then appealed to all affected staff of the Federal Public Service to maintain calm, with the assurance that every effort will be made to ensure everyone receives their rightful salaries.
The OAGF said it is aware of the anxiety and frustration caused by this situation, especially considering how vital timely salary payments are to the livelihoods and responsibilities of public servants.
To resolve this, “definite actions have already been taken to pinpoint the problem, and preparations are in progress to reprocess the failed payments as quickly as possible. The welfare of Federal Government employees remains a primary concern for the Office” Mokwa said.
The OAGF also expressed regrets for “the trouble this incident has caused and seeks to reassure all affected employees that immediate measures have been put in place to fix the issue.”
The OAGF maintained its full dedication to transparency, accountability, and efficiency in all payroll operations and welcomed continued dialogue with stakeholders to ensure consistent improvements in service delivery.
