The Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation (NDIC) has been granted three ISO certifications by the MSECB, a global provider of Audit and Certification Services.
These certifications include Information Security Management System ISO/IEC 27001:2013, IT Service Management System ISO/IEC 20000-1:2011, and Business Continuity Management System ISO 22301. These certifications ensure that the organization manages and protects its information assets, provides resilient services, and can recover from disruptive incidents.
A statement from the NDIC signed by Bashir A. Nuhu, Director, Communication and Public Affairs Department said the certifications were granted after a rigorous and independent audit exercise that confirmed NDIC’s compliance with the requirements of the three standards.
ISO is an independent, non-governmental international organization that develops international standards to support innovation and provide solutions to global challenges.
Mr. Bashir Nuhu said the certification process is a three-year, multi-layered process that includes initial certification followed by surveillance audits over the course of two years.
He stated that the NDIC aims to continue offering excellent services consistent with international standards and best practices to sustain their achievement and become one of the best deposit insurers in the world.
