The National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure (NASENI) recently convened a two-day strategic retreat for its Development Institutes’ overseeing officers, project managers, coordinating directors, and headquarters directors.
The retreat aimed to strengthen leadership skills, align institute goals with NASENI’s overarching vision, and enhance decision-making capabilities.
The event was designed to shift the focus of research and development (R&D) efforts towards market-ready, innovative solutions that can generate sustainable economic value. NASENI Executive Vice Chairman/CEO, Mr. Khalil Suleiman Halilu, emphasized the need for greater cohesion between the Development Institutes and the agency’s renewed vision, highlighting the importance of the 3Cs principle: Creation, Collaboration, and Commercialization.
Halilu stressed the significance of the retreat in fostering a shared commitment to excellence and adopting global best practices in innovation management. He encouraged participants to engage in open and constructive discussions, think boldly, and collaborate purposefully to achieve extraordinary outcomes.
By aligning the goals of its Development Institutes with its broader vision, NASENI aims to position itself as a leading force in driving Nigeria’s technological advancement and addressing national challenges. The agency’s focus on innovation, commercialization, and impact will be crucial in shaping the country’s future.
