The Federal Government is preparing to release the remaining five months of the N35,000 wage award arrears to its workforce.

The Office of the Accountant General of the Federation (OAGF) announced this development in a statement issued in Abuja on Monday. The statement, signed by Bawa Mokwa, the Director of Press and Public Relations at the OAGF, provided details on the disbursement plan.

According to the OAGF, the Federal Government had previously paid five months of the wage award to federal government employees through staggered payments. The statement clarified that the outstanding arrears, amounting to five months at N35,000 per month, would also be disbursed in monthly installments.

The OAGF specified that the initial installment of these outstanding wage award arrears would be paid to workers following the disbursement of their April 2025 salaries.

“The wage award arrears would not be paid with the April 2025 salary; it will come immediately after the salary is paid,” the OAGF stated clearly.

The Office reiterated the Federal Government’s commitment to the complete execution of all policies and agreements concerning staff remuneration and welfare. This commitment, the OAGF conveyed, is aimed at boosting productivity and efficiency within the federal workforce.
