The family of the late All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain, Chief Dr. Cairo Ojougboh, marked his one-year memorial anniversary with a series of charitable initiatives, honoring his legacy of philanthropy and service to society.
Led by his wife, Mrs. Bose Ojougboh, the family focused on education, healthcare, and social welfare, reflecting Dr. Ojougboh’s lifelong commitment to these causes.

The memorial activities centered around the ‘Dr. Cairo Ojougboh Foundation’, a family-led initiative established to immortalize the late politician and continue his legacy. The outreach included the donation of school books and bags to pupils of Erigbe Primary School in Agbor, Ika South Local Government Area (LGA) of Delta State, where Dr. Ojougboh received his early education. This gesture served as a poignant reminder of his belief in the transformative power of education.
The Foundation’s outreach extended to patients at Central Hospital, Agbor, where financial assistance was provided to help with medical expenses. This act of kindness brought relief to those facing health challenges and demonstrated the family’s commitment to supporting accessible healthcare.

Furthermore, the family extended a helping hand to children at the Salve Regina Children’s Home, Agbor, donating toiletries, cash, and food items. This contribution aimed to improve the well-being of the children and support the home’s mission.
Speaking during the events, Mrs. Ojougboh reaffirmed the family’s dedication to upholding the ideals of her late husband. “We are here to celebrate the life of my husband, Late Dr. Cairo Ojougboh, who passed on a year ago,” she said. “In his honour, we decided to give back to society. He was a man who valued education and was always willing to help others. It is only fitting that we continue his legacy through acts of generosity.”
The visit to Erigbe Primary School was particularly significant, as it represented Dr. Ojougboh’s own educational beginnings. The Foundation’s distribution of school bags, writing materials, and food packs served as an encouragement to the pupils to take their education seriously. The family’s presence and words of encouragement inspired hope and underscored the importance of education in shaping future generations.
At Central Hospital, Agbor, Mrs. Ojougboh and her entourage moved through the medical wards, offering financial support to patients. The hospital staff and beneficiaries expressed their gratitude for the compassionate gesture, acknowledging the positive impact it would have on their lives.
The visit to Salve Regina Children’s Home provided another opportunity for the family to demonstrate their commitment to social welfare. The Matron of the home expressed her heartfelt appreciation for the donations, recognizing the Ojougboh family’s dedication to continuing the late politician’s legacy of compassion.
Mrs. Ojougboh reflected on her late husband’s contributions to society, emphasizing that his legacy of generosity and service would endure. “Dr. Cairo was a selfless man who touched many lives,” she said. “His contributions to the Nigerian political landscape, his mark in Agbor Kingdom, Delta State, and the country at large, will always be remembered. He may be gone, but his impact will continue to be felt for generations.”
The Dr. Cairo Ojougboh Foundation has pledged to continue supporting education, healthcare, and social welfare initiatives in his memory. This commitment ensures that his vision for a better society will live on, inspiring future generations to embrace the values of service and philanthropy. The family’s actions serve as a powerful reminder of the enduring impact of a life dedicated to the betterment of others.
