Dangote Industries Limited has been named the lead sponsor of the 2025 Abuja International Trade Fair (AITF), which is scheduled to open on September 25, 2025.
The company’s partnership with the Abuja Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI) is described as a strategic collaboration designed to engage with key stakeholders and foster intra-African trade and investments.
According to a statement from the company’s Branding and Corporate Communications Department, the fair will serve as a platform to showcase a wide range of innovative products and the company’s contributions to the sustainable development of Nigeria.
The statement, signed by the company’s spokesman, Anthony Chiejina, noted that the Dangote Group’s President, Aliko Dangote, has a passion for the ACCI due to its strategic location in the nation’s capital, which is home to policymakers and the diplomatic community.
Mr. Chiejina added that the theme for the 20th Trade Fair, ‘Sustainability: Consumption, Incentives, and Taxation,’ resonates deeply with the core of the conglomerate.
In the statement, the Senior Adviser to the President of Dangote Group, Fatima Wali-Abdurrahman, stated that, “Dangote Industries Limited is a recognized market leader in Africa, yet it is not resting on its oars. Nearly all our Strategic Business Units will be showcasing innovative products at the fair, ranging from sugar, cement, salt, fertilizer, trucks, Dangote Peugeot Automobile, packaging materials, seasoning, petroleum products, and more.”
Mrs. Wali-Abdurrahman also said that the Dangote Group will take advantage of the Chamber’s planned launch of the “Buy Africa, Build Africa” (BABA) initiative, describing it as a welcome development.
Meanwhile, the President of the Abuja Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Chief Emeka Obegolu, SAN, announced to newsmen in Abuja that the 12-day fair is expected to attract over 100,000 participants from government agencies, multinational corporations, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), and diplomatic missions.
He said the exhibitions will cover sectors including agriculture, fintech, sustainable energy, transportation, and creative industries. The collaboration with the Dangote Group, he said, reflects a shared commitment to driving economic growth.
“Our collaboration with Dangote reflects our commitment to driving economic growth, strengthening trade, and creating opportunities for businesses and communities. The Dangote Group’s active participation in the 20th edition of the Trade Fair further demonstrates its role as a key player in Nigeria’s industrial and commercial landscape,” he added.
Chief Obegolu also stated, “The Fair is designed not only as a marketplace for business networking and investment opportunities but also as a platform to showcase green innovations and eco-friendly technologies that can transform industries and improve the quality of life.”
Speaking in a similar vein, the Director-General of ACCI, Dr. Agabaidu jideani, said that by participating, investors like the Dangote Group stand to gain through access to markets, green opportunities, and network and collaboration.
“The Abuja Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI) highly values its long-standing partnership with the Dangote Group, which has been a consistent supporter of the Abuja International Trade Fair and other initiatives that promote commerce and industry in Nigeria,” the DG said.
He added that the partnership with Dangote not only enhances the visibility of the fair but also reinforces the Chamber’s mission of promoting sustainable development and investment.
