The Aliko Dangote Foundation (ADF) has continued its National Food Intervention Programme, distributing rice to vulnerable Nigerians in Abuja, Nigeria’s capital city.
The initiative involved collaboration with 48 charity organizations and orphanages across the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
“This action represents the ADF’s unwavering commitment to supporting the government and Nigerians in overcoming economic hardship,” said Anthony Chiejina, spokesperson for the Dangote company.
Following similar events in Kano and Lagos, the Foundation began distributing one million bags of rice throughout all Nigerian local government areas last month. The Abuja distribution is being coordinated by the Ummah Foundation, led by Mrs. Azeeza Hassan-Jibril.
Beneficiary organizations include Hope for Survival Children’s Home, Child to Child Charity Foundation, Mission for Education, Social and Health (MESH), and many more.
“The donation will significantly improve the lives of Abuja’s beneficiaries,” said Mrs. Jibril.
Representatives from various charities expressed their gratitude for the ADF’s intervention. Mrs. Khadija Oladipupo of MESH said the rice donation “nourishes and uplifts those in need within our communities.”
Hafsat Umar Gimba, CEO of the Gajiya Charity Foundation, described the rice as a “generous assistance” that brings “immense relief” to the underprivileged.
Leaders from other organizations also commended the Dangote Foundation’s compassion and commitment to social responsibility. They highlighted the positive impact on people experiencing food insecurity and marginalized communities.
This recent donation builds on the ADF’s Ramadan outreach programs, which provided essential supplies to families and communities facing hardship.
The Dangote Foundation’s initiative serves as a beacon of hope, inspiring others to lend a helping hand to those in need.
