Zacch Adedeji Appointed Acting FIRS Chairman

An acting Executive Chairman has been appointed for the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS).
President Bola Tinubu yesterday in Abuja approved the appointment of Zacch Adedeji as the Acting Executive Chairman of the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS).
This disclosure is contained in a press release from the state house signed by the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Chief Ajuri Ngelale.
His appointment in Acting Chairman’s capacity will be for a 90 days period before he can be confirmed as the substantive Chairman with a four year tenure.
The appointment takes immediate effect following these disclosure.
Zacch Adedeji who recently served as Special Adviser to the President on Revenue, is a first-class graduate in accounting from the Obafemi Awolowo university Ife, Osun state.
He has served in several capacities in Nigeria, some of which include Oyo state Commissioner of Finance, Executive Secretary/CEO of the National Sugar Development Council (NSDC).
President Bola Tinubu also gave the directives that the former FIRS chairman, Mr Muhammad Nami, should embark on a three months pre-retirement leave, as contained in the Public Service Rule (PSR) 120243.
These directives takes immediate effect before his eventual retirement from service on 8 December, 2023.
