The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) has come out to refute the report by Saharareporters that alleged files implicating President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and some of his aides were taken away by officials of the DSS.

According to the ICPC, there were no such files at its headquarters or offices across the states. Consequently, the ICPC has urged the public to disregard this report as it is unfounded and lacks any evidence.

Furthermore, the ICPC said it is deeply concerned about the irresponsible practice and lack of adherence to the principles of journalism by some media outlets. Although the Commission acknowledges the media’s role in informing the public, it urged media organizations not to allow their platforms to be used by subversive agents to spread lies and unfounded reports.

The Commission said it encourages open communication channels for confirmation and clarification of any matter.
