SEC Urges Stakeholders to Build a Fair and Transparent Capital Market

The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has urged stakeholders to strive towards building a fair, transparent, and inclusive capital market.
In a Christmas message to the capital market community, SEC Director General, Dr. Emomotimi Agama, emphasized that only such a market can attract both local and foreign investors.
“As we celebrate the joy, love, and magic of the season, I want to express my heartfelt appreciation to all stakeholders in the Nigerian capital market for your tireless efforts, commitment, and resilience,” Agama said. “Remember that we need to remain steadfast and resolute in our determination to have the capital market that we desire.”
Agama extended his gratitude to issuers, investors, intermediaries, and other market participants for their continued trust and confidence in the market. He acknowledged their crucial role in shaping the Nigerian capital market into a vibrant and attractive destination for investors.
“On behalf of the Securities and Exchange Commission Nigeria, I wish you and your loved ones a joyous Christmas and a prosperous New Year. May your hearts be filled with joy, your homes be filled with laughter, and your spirits be renewed,” he stated.
The SEC DG also expressed his deep appreciation to the SEC staff for their tireless efforts and dedication. “Your hard work and dedication have been instrumental in shaping the Nigerian capital market into a vibrant and attractive destination for investors,” he said. “I am honored to lead such a talented and driven team.”
Agama concluded by expressing excitement for the future of the Nigerian capital market and urged all stakeholders to work together to build a robust and sustainable ecosystem.
