Nigeria, EU trade grows to €45bn

The trade between the European Union and Nigeria has reached a value of approximately €45 billion.
Ambassador Samuela Isopi, Head of delegation of the EU and ECOWAS, revealed this during a visit to Minister of Budget and Economic Planning Senator Abubakar Atiku Bagudu.
The Ambassador stated that the trade balance is in favor of Nigeria, and that it is increasing steadily.
The EU she said aims to work together with the Nigerian government to explore the potential for investment in the country, particularly through the presence of European companies.
Minister Abubakar Bagudu acknowledged and appreciated the support and cooperation from the EU in various areas, including governance and the rule of law.
Earlier, he expressed gratitude to the Korean government for its cooperation and technical assistance programs, which have benefited over 2,000 Nigerian government officials.
The Korean government through its Ambassador Kim Young Chae said it is planning to work on transforming agriculture in Nigeria, especially in the area of rice farming, with a groundbreaking project set to commence in November.
