The Niger State government has officially handed over the land documents (C of O) to the Federal Government for a new project called the Sustainable Integrated Productive Communities (SIPC).

Both sides agreed to work together on this plan, which aims to build new towns that combine housing, farming, and electricity.

The goal of the project is to create a better life for people in rural areas by providing food, jobs, and affordable homes. The Federal Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Finance Incorporated (MOFI) are leading the project to make sure private companies invest their money and skills to make it a success.

The Minister of State for Finance, Dr. Doris Uzoka-Anite, explained that this is more than just building houses. It is a plan to help farmers settle in one place so they can grow more food and make more money. She noted that many farmers leave their villages for cities because of a lack of roads, water, and safety.

“By giving farmers stable communities with basic needs, this project will help them produce more and reduce waste,” the Minister said. She added that when farmers are well-settled, farming becomes more attractive to young people and brings in more profit.

Because Niger State has a lot of good farmland, it was chosen as the first place to try this. The new towns will be built near farms so that it is easy to store, process, and sell crops.

The project will use a mix of government land and money from private investors. This way, the government can focus on making good rules while private companies handle the building and daily work.

The Minister also mentioned that the communities will use renewable energy, like solar power. This will provide steady electricity for homes and for machines that process food, helping to keep costs low. The plan also includes building good roads, providing clean water, and using environmentally friendly ways to build.

Governor Mohammed Bago of Niger State, who handed over the documents, said this project will change how farming is done in Nigeria. He believes it will help the whole country start making more of its own goods through industrialization.

“This project is going to bring a revolution to Nigeria in industries like farming, livestock, and security,” the Governor said. He promised that Niger State is ready to provide even more land for similar projects in the future.

The Governor also announced that the state is buying 10 tractors and two harvesters for every local government to help farmers work faster. He noted that it is much easier for a farmer with a steady income to pay for a house through a mortgage than for someone struggling to find odd jobs in the city.

Dr. Armstrong Takang, the head of MOFI, said the plan is to turn empty land into busy, productive towns. He explained that people in rural areas deserve to enjoy the “Nigerian dream” too.

“They can own their own homes and afford them through their farming and livestock work,” Takang said. He noted that with good schools, water, and power in the villages, there will be no need for everyone to rush to Abuja or Lagos to find a better life.
