NDIC pays first dividends to victims of defunct Peak Merchant Bank

The Nigerian Deposit Insurance Corporation (NIDC) has commenced the process of paying the first liquidation dividend to depositors and ex-staff of defunct Peak Merchant Bank.

This disclosure was made in a press statement signed by the Director, Communication and Public Affairs Department NDIC, Bashir A. Nuhu, on Monday in Abuja .

Bashir Nuhu in the statement disclosed that “the verification exercise would enable depositors of the defunct bank to cross-check and ascertain their account information as well as balances with the bank as at closure”.

He further stated that the corporation has set up a verification channel to that effect, and that all parties involved are to visit any NDIC office nationwide or visit their website to complete the verification exercise.

Mr. Nuhu also declared that the verification process will commence from the 18th of September, and last through to the 16th of October 2023.

“We enjoin all eligible stakeholders of the defunct bank to visit any NDIC offices or visit NDIC website on www.ndic.gov.ng for verification of their claims commencing from Monday, 18th September to 16th October 2023, while the duly completed verification forms can also be sent to the corporation’s email address at : claimscomplaint@ndic.gov.ng” he said.
