NCS Promotes 1,419 Junior Officers

The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has approved the promotion of 1,419 junior officers across various ranks. This is to boost morale and enhance operational efficiency of the officers and men of the Nigeria Customs Services.

 

The decision was ratified during the 10th Management meeting, chaired by the Comptroller General of Customs (CGC), Bashir Adewale Adeniyi, on November 29, 2024.

 

The comprehensive promotion list, released by the National Public Relations Officer, Abdullahi Maiwada, includes both general duty and support staff who excelled in the 2024 promotion exercise.

Among the promoted officers are: Inspector of Customs (IC): 346 General Duty and 384 Support Staff; Assistant Inspector of Customs (AIC): 4 General Duty and 13 Support Staff; Customs Assistant I (CAI): 372 General Duty and 59 Support Staff and Customs Assistant II (CAII): 188 General Duty and 54 Support Staff

 

CGC Adeniyi, in a statement, noted the importance of career growth in motivating employees and driving the organization towards unparalleled service delivery. He urged the newly promoted officers to redouble their efforts in fulfilling the Service’s core mandates of revenue generation, suppression of smuggling, and trade facilitation.

 

The promotion list for senior officers is currently under review and awaiting approval by the Nigeria Customs Service Board.
