NCC’s Dr. Aminu Maida Joins IIC Board of Directors

Dr. Aminu Maida, the Executive Vice Chairman of the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), has been appointed to the Board of Directors of the International Institute of Communications (IIC).
The IIC, a global organization dedicated to promoting telecommunications and media development worldwide, has recognized Dr. Maida’s significant contributions to the telecommunications industry.
His appointment to the board is seen as a recognition of his expertise and leadership in shaping Nigeria’s digital landscape.
With a distinguished career spanning various global organizations, including British Telecom, Cisco Systems, and EE Ltd., Dr. Maida brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the IIC. His role in modernizing Nigeria’s central digital payments infrastructure as Executive Director of Technology and Operations at NIBSS further highlights his impact on the nation’s digital transformation.
Dr. Maida’s appointment to the IIC Board of Directors is expected to contribute to the development of innovative telecommunications and media policies that benefit communities worldwide.
His academic background, including a Ph.D. in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from the University of Bath, solidifies his position as a leading expert in the field.
