The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) has issued a statement clarifying that the Executive Vice Chairman, Prof. Umar Garba Danbatta, does not have a LinkedIn account. The Commission has alerted the public to a fraudulent LinkedIn account that is impersonating Prof. Danbatta and his office.

The NCC has cautioned the public to be cautious of individuals who create such fake accounts with the intention of defrauding unsuspecting members of the public. They want to ensure that social media users are aware that any LinkedIn account claiming to belong to the EVC of NCC is fake.

In a statement released by the Director of Public Affairs, Ruben Mouka, the NCC emphasized that Prof. Umar Garba Danbatta does not have a LinkedIn account. They are working closely with security agencies to investigate the source of this fraudulent activity and put an end to it. The NCC is urging the public and stakeholders to be vigilant on social media platforms and in the cyberspace, as there are many individuals and groups attempting to defraud unsuspecting users.

The NCC reiterated its presence on the internet through its official website (www.ncc.gov.ng) and verified social media platforms. They assured the public that all information about their activities, programs, and reports can be verified on their website and official social media accounts. They encourage everyone to follow their official social media accounts for credible updates and announcements.
