NAICOM Promotes Five, Unveils New Directorates

The Governing Board of the National Insurance Commission (NAICOM) has approved the promotion of five senior management staff to Director cadre.

This upgrade came after the promotion exercise conducted on the 27th day of March 2024 and was disclosed in a statement after a meeting of the Governing Board on Monday in Abuja .

The new directors include the former Head, Corporate Communications and Market Development, Rasaaq Salami, who now assumes the position of the Director of Human Resources and Administration, which is one of the eight newly restructured Directorates in the Commission.

Mr Salami, a communications expert was promoted alongside Dr. Talmiz Usman, Director (Legal, Enforcement and Market Development), and Kamaludeen Barde, Director (Finance and Accounts).

Mr. Ajibola Bankole, was named Director in charge of Inspectorate Department; Ahmad Ibrahim Adam, Director (Innovation and Regulation).

Also contained in the statement, the Governing Board also approved the updated organisational structure of the Commission designed to enhance its efficiency, effectiveness, and adaptability.

The new Directorate include Inspectorate, Supervision, Market Conduct and Complaint Bureau, Innovation and Regulation, Legal, Enforcement and Market Development, Human Resources and Administration, Finance and Accounts as well as Technology, Strategy and Research.

“This restructuring ensures that the organisational structure aligns with the Commission’s strategic goals and objectives, aiding the executive management in achieving its mandate”, the statement said.
