NAICOM, Housing Ministry to Collaborate Ahead of National Insurance Conference

In a bid to ensure maximum engagement and active participation in the upcoming 2023 National Insurance Conference, the Commissioner for Insurance, Olorundare Sunday Thomas, along with a delegation from the National Insurance Commission (NAICOM), recently paid a courtesy visit to the Honourable Minister for Housing and Urban Development, Arc. Ahmed Musa Dangiwa.
During the meeting, Commissioner Thomas took the opportunity to update Minister Dangiwa on the various activities and initiatives being undertaken by the Commission. Additionally, he formally extended an invitation to the Minister to attend the National Insurance Conference, which is being organized by NAICOM.
In response to the invitation, Minister Dangiwa expressed his appreciation for the collaboration offer from the Commission. He highlighted the importance of compliance with the laws pertaining to public buildings and those under construction, and acknowledged the role that NAICOM can play in ensuring adherence to these regulations.
Dangiwa also confirmed his active participation and the involvement of the Ministry of Housing in the upcoming conference, which is scheduled to take place from 22-24 October 2023.
The National Insurance Conference is expected to attract attendees from various sectors, including state governors, ministers and traditional ruler’s many of whom have given their commitments to attend.
The conference aims to promote discussions and knowledge-sharing on critical matters within the insurance industry.
With the Commissioner for Insurance and the Minister of Housing joining forces, this collaboration marks a significant step towards fostering a closer relationship between the insurance sector and the Ministry, especially as discussions will focus on the provision of insurance cover for both public and private buildings.
