Jaiz Bank appoints Bintube Board Chairman

Jaiz Bank Plc has named Mohammed Mustapha Bintube as its new Chairman of the Board of Directors.
According to a statement from the bank. Bintube’s appointment was approved by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) after his recommendation.
Prior to this role, Bintube served as a shareholder and the first Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Jaiz Bank Plc from 2011 to 2013.
Bintube currently holds various positions, including Chairman of Buraq Capital Limited since 2014, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Emerging Africa Trustees Limited, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Neelds Realty, and Chairman of Qalam Travels and Tours.
He has also served as Chairman of the Board Credit and Governance Committee of the Bank of Industry from 2017 to 2022, Chairman of the Board Licensing and Regulatory Committee of the Nigeria Communications Commission from 2010 to 2015, and Chairman of the Board Finance and General Purpose Committee of the Nigerian-Reinsurance Corporation from 1991 to 1993.
With over three decades of banking experience, Bintube began his career as a Principal Manager at Commercial Bank Credit Lyonnaise from 1989 to 1995. He then held positions such as Assistant General Manager at Commercial Bank Credit Lyonnaise from 1995 to 1997, Deputy General Manager at FSB International Bank from 1997 to 1999, and General Manager at FSB International Bank from 1999 to 2001.
He was later promoted to the role of Executive Director at FSB International Bank, where he served from 2001 to 2004.
Bintube obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria in 1981, and an Advanced Diploma in Banking and Finance from Fin-Africa-Milan, Italy in 1989.
Jaiz Bank described him as a “consummate banker” in their statement announcing his appointment.
