The Federal Government has paid federal civil servants the second installment of their outstanding N35,000 wage award arrears.

This was announced in a statement issued by the Office of the Accountant General of the Federation (OAGF) on Friday in Abuja and signed by Mr. Bawa Mokwa, Director of Press and Public Relations.

The OAGF noted that this payment follows an earlier payment of one month’s salary from the initial outstanding five months. With this second payment, there are now three tranches of the wage award arrears remaining.

The statement addressed concerns and rumors about the government’s commitment to the payment. The OAGF clarified that the Federal Government has not gone back on its promise to pay the arrears.

The statement also confirmed that the government will continue to pay the N35,000 wage award in monthly installments until all outstanding arrears are fully paid.
