The federal government has begun issuing circulars for the dissolution of boards across parastatals, agencies, and commissions.
However, 21 days after the commencement of the dispatch of the circular terminating the appointment affected board members, the list of possible ministers in the Bola Tinubu administration will be released.
A source that is involved in the dispatch confirmed these developments to Economic Issues in Abuja on Thursday.
The source disclosed that the circulars were sent out on Wednesday to the Permanent Secretaries and Head/Chief Executive Officers of the MDAs.
The circulars emphasized that the board dissolution took effect from Friday, 16th June 2023, and the Permanent Secretaries have been directed to ensure statutory compliance with regards to the affected board members’ exit.

The OSGF source highlighted that the reconstitution of the boards of parastatals, agencies, and institutions would take place within 21 days of the circulars’ dispatch.
“Following this, the list of ministerial nominees will be unveiled by the President. Thus, the announcement of those selected for ministerial positions is likely to take place in mid-July” the source said.
Last week, Willie Bassey, from the OSGF, announced President, Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s decision to dissolve the governing boards of parastatals, agencies, institutions, and government-owned firms in compliance with constitutional powers and in the public interest.

CEOs of the affected agencies were asked to report matters requiring board attention to the President through their respective Ministries’ Permanent Secretaries.
