The management of Dangote refinery has announced the successful containment of a minor fire incident at its effluent treatment plant (ETP).
The incident, which occurred earlier on Wednesday, June 26th, was managed promptly and effectively by the plant’s emergency response team, ensuring the safety of all personnel and the continued operation of the facility.
Anthony Chiejina, Dangote Industries Group Chief Branding and Communications Head confirmed in the statement that there were no injuries or harm reported among the staff on duty. “We have swiftly contained a minor fire incident at our effluent treatment plant (ETP) today, Wednesday 26th of June. There is no cause for alarm as the refinery is operating and there is no recorded injury or body harm to all our staff on duty,” Chiejina stated.
The quick response to the fire highlights the refinery’s commitment to safety and emergency preparedness. The ETP, a critical component of the refinery’s operations, handles the treatment of industrial wastewater before it is released or reused, playing a vital role in maintaining environmental standards and operational efficiency.
