From August 15, 2025, the Dangote Petroleum Refinery will commence nationwide distribution of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) and diesel to fuel marketers, petrol dealers, manufacturers, telecommunications companies, aviation firms, and other bulk fuel consumers across Nigeria.

As part of the rollout, the company will offer free logistics to buyers in a bid to strengthen distribution networks and reduce the cost of fuel delivery.

In a statement issued on Sunday, the refinery confirmed the official start date and unveiled major investments already made to ensure the seamless implementation of the scheme.

“To ensure smooth take-off of this scheme, Dangote Refinery has invested in the procurement of 4,000 brand-new Compressed Natural Gas (CNG)-powered tankers. This phase of the programme will continue over an extended timeframe,” the statement said.

It further disclosed that the refinery is building CNG stations, often referred to as daughter booster stations, to support nationwide distribution efforts. “These stations will be backed by a fleet of over 100 CNG tankers strategically deployed across the country to ensure seamless product distribution,” the company said.

The company noted that the initiative forms part of its broader goal to eliminate logistics bottlenecks, improve energy efficiency, and promote long-term sustainability in Nigeria’s downstream oil sector. “This strategic programme is part of our broader commitment to eliminating logistics costs, enhancing energy efficiency, promoting sustainability and supporting Nigeria’s economic development. It affirms our dedication to improving the availability and affordability of fuel, in support of broader efforts to strengthen the economy and improve the well-being of all Nigerians,” the refinery stated.

Petrol stations purchasing PMS and diesel from the Dangote Refinery will benefit directly from the free logistics support. Large-scale industrial and commercial users—especially manufacturers, telecoms firms, and aviation companies—will also be eligible. The company said the plan is designed to reduce fuel-related production costs, curb inflation, and contribute to national economic growth.

Under the scheme, eligible buyers of a minimum of 500,000 litres will be granted access to an additional 500,000 litres on credit, repayable within two weeks, subject to a bank guarantee. This credit facility is aimed at boosting liquidity for major fuel purchasers and enhancing supply consistency.

Describing the programme as a landmark intervention, Dangote Petroleum Refinery said it represents a crucial step in the company’s mission to reshape Nigeria’s energy industry. “This pioneering effort marks a major milestone in our vision to revolutionise Nigeria’s energy sector. Dangote Refinery is dedicated to ensuring that no place is left behind. Our goal is to provide equitable access to affordable fuel for all Nigerians, regardless of location, making energy more accessible and sustainable for everyone, wherever they may be,” the company said.

Beyond fuel availability, the project is expected to stimulate the revival of dormant petrol stations, support job creation, drive small and medium-sized enterprise (SME) growth, increase government revenue, and improve fuel access in rural and underserved communities. The company believes that the resulting boost in investor confidence will further strengthen Nigeria’s midstream and downstream petroleum sectors.

Dangote Petroleum Refinery linked the project to the federal government’s broader economic reforms. “This initiative is in line with the Renewed Hope Agenda of His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, reflecting our shared commitment to economic progress, stability, and inclusive development. We sincerely thank the Federal Government for its continued support, especially through the Naira-for-Crude scheme, which has helped stabilise fuel supply amid global price volatility.”

The company has invited fuel marketers, station owners, manufacturers, telecoms firms, and other stakeholders to take advantage of the new initiative. Registration, including Know Your Customer (KYC) verification, runs from June 16 to August 15, 2025.

Interested parties may contact the refinery via telephone at +234 707 470 2099, +234 707 470 2100, +234 816 961 8390, +234 703 796 8308, or +234 812 362 2893. Email enquiries can be sent to sales.enquiry@dangote.com.

Concluding the statement, the refinery noted: “Dangote Petroleum Refinery remains a proud partner in this national journey— a truly Nigerian company of global standards, dedicated to the well-being of all Nigerians.”
