Dangote Petroleum Refinery has advised members of the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN) to formally register with the company to enable direct transactions, assuring them of ample supply of petroleum products to meet their demands.

In a statement signed by Anthony Chiejina, the Group Chief Branding and Communications Officer of Dangote Petroleum Refinery, the company clarified that it has not received any payments from IPMAN members for the purchase of refined petroleum products.

While discussions are ongoing with IPMAN, Chiejina stated that any claims of loading difficulties or delays are inaccurate, as Dangote Refinery currently has no direct business dealings with the association.

“The payment in question has been made through the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) and not to us. Additionally, NNPCL has neither authorized nor approved us to release Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) to IPMAN,” the statement read, dispelling any misconceptions about IPMAN’s dealings with Dangote Refinery.

Chiejina further noted that the refinery is fully equipped to meet the nation’s demand for petroleum products, including petrol, diesel, and aviation fuel. With a capacity to load 2,900 trucks daily and facilities for product evacuation by sea, Dangote Petroleum Refinery is committed to ensuring a stable supply to the market.

The refinery also cautioned against unfounded media statements, urging stakeholders to avoid public speculation that could undermine Nigeria’s economic restructuring efforts under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration. “Conducting business through public speculation is counterproductive and unpatriotic. We encourage all stakeholders to support the President’s economic re-engineering efforts by promoting unity, rather than engaging in media conflicts,” Chiejina added.
