The pavilion of the Dangote Group became the centre of attraction on Saturday at the ongoing 20th Abuja International Trade Fair, as hundreds of participants trooped in to explore the company’s diverse range of products and investment opportunities.

The Abuja Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI), organisers of the annual event, had projected that the 2025 edition of the fair would attract over 100,000 visitors from across Nigeria and beyond.

True to that projection, the Dangote pavilion — featuring products from across the Group’s subsidiaries — turned into a hub of economic and trade discussions.

Visitors expressed keen interest in the company’s wide-ranging portfolio spanning cement, sugar, fertiliser, salt, petroleum products, and truck assembly.

A visitor, Peter Abdul, who was seen exploring the booth, told journalists that he was particularly impressed by the company’s product diversity and quality. “I was fascinated by what I saw at the Dangote pavilion — from cement to fertiliser, sugar, and salt. It’s remarkable to see how one Nigerian company has such a vast presence across sectors,” he said.

Another participant from Kano, Ibrahim Rogo, said he was looking forward to engaging the Group in petroleum and polypropylene trading. “I have collected their contact details because I am very interested in exploring opportunities in petroleum and polypropylene. This kind of platform makes such connections possible,” Rogo stated.

The pavilion also attracted members of the diplomatic corps, who inquired about Dangote Sinotruk West Africa Limited — the Group’s truck manufacturing and assembly arm that has been instrumental in developing local capacity in logistics and transportation.

Speaking earlier, the company’s representative, Mr. Hashem Ahmed, said Dangote products symbolize more than just consumer goods but embody opportunities for Nigerians. “Every bag of cement, every tonne of fertiliser, every litre of petroleum product, and every grain of sugar you consume from Dangote represents more than just a product. It represents a job for a Nigerian, a contract for a local supplier, an opportunity for a small business, and a step toward a more prosperous Nigeria,” Ahmed said.

Ahmed, who serves as a General Manager in the Group, also expressed appreciation to the company’s distributors and dealers for their role in sustaining the Group’s success. “I appreciate our esteemed business partners and dedicated dealers of Dangote products here in Abuja and across Nigeria. Your commitment, trust, and resilience have been central to the success of our brand,” he stated.

He commended the Abuja Chamber of Commerce and Industry for the organisation of the Trade Fair and for choosing the theme “Sustainability: Consumption, Incentives, and Taxation”, which he said aligns with the Dangote Group’s long-term vision of sustainable industrialisation and inclusive growth.

In his remarks, the President of the ACCI, Chief Emeka Obegolu, described the Dangote Group as one of the Chamber’s most valued partners, noting that its presence continues to elevate the profile of the Abuja International Trade Fair.

“As a member of our Chamber, the Dangote Group has consistently contributed to the growth and visibility of the Abuja International Trade Fair. Their presence here today, with their impressive pavilion and diverse product showcase, is a testament to their commitment to trade promotion and to strengthening Nigeria’s industrial base,” Obegolu said.

He noted that the Group’s operations in cement, sugar, salt, fertiliser, agriculture, and energy demonstrate that sustainability and innovation are integral to its business model. “Their investments in local value addition, backward integration, and renewable energy solutions directly align with the Chamber’s vision for a competitive and self-reliant Nigerian economy,” he added.

Obegolu also expressed gratitude to the Group’s President, Alhaji Aliko Dangote, for his unwavering commitment to the Nigerian economy, describing him as a visionary industrialist whose efforts continue to inspire economic transformation.

The ACCI president further said the Chamber’s four centres — the Abuja Trade Centre (ATC), Business Entrepreneurship and Skills Technology (BEST) Centre, Dispute Resolution Centre (DRC), and Policy Advocacy Centre (PAC) — along with its 16 active trade groups, work together to support enterprises and deepen trade partnerships. “In this mission, the partnership with the Dangote Group has been invaluable in deepening trade, expanding opportunities, and advocating for a friendlier business environment,” he said.

The 20th Abuja International Trade Fair continues to serve as a convergence point for manufacturers, entrepreneurs, and investors, with the Dangote Group once again standing out as a driving force for Nigeria’s industrial and economic growth.
