Dangote Cement Plc Celebrates Philanthropy and Customer Loyalty at Annual Awards Gala

In a glittering event held in Lagos over the weekend, Dangote Cement Plc honored its customers and distributors, while also receiving accolades for the magnanimity and philanthropy of its founder and Chairman, Aliko Dangote. Distributors from across the country praised Dangote’s unparalleled support and hailed the company’s partnership as the best alliance for business growth.
The gala night, held as part of the 2023 Dangote Cement Customers Award, was attended by prominent Nigerians, including former Governor of Ekiti state, Dr. Kayode Fayemi, Executive Chairman of Geregu Power, Femi Otedola and the Former Minister of Industry, Trade & Investment, Otunba Niyi Adebayo, among others. Musical performances by Kizz Daniel and Tuface Idibia added to the entertainment of the evening.
The Best Distributor of the Year award went to Kazab Heritage Limited, while Gilbert Igweka Global Concept and Nwa Ado Resources Nigeria Limited secured the second and third positions nationally, respectively. Winners in the different regions included Twins Faja Enterprises, Nwa Ado Resources Nigeria Ltd, Abdullahi Fugu, Giwa Dynamics Ventures, and D.C. Okika Nigeria Limited.
Twins Faja Nigeria Ltd Chairman, Mr. Wale Fajana, expressed his gratitude for the growth his business has experienced over the past two decades. He credited his success to Alhaji Dangote’s continuous support, both financially and personally, describing him as a close family friend with an exceptional level of humanity and generosity.
Another distributor, Chief Lawrence Onyemelukwe, MD of Lafanex Nigeria Ltd, considered Dangote Cement and Aliko Dangote legendary figures in the business world. He highlighted their support and introduction of new technologies and automation, which contributed to the success of his company and all its customers.
Abdullahi Fugu of A.A Fugu & Sons in Northeast Nigeria shared his journey from being a small-scale distributor to becoming a top player in the industry, thanks to Dangote Cement’s guidance and assistance. Chief Akukalia Igwebuike, CEO of Nwa Ado Multi Biz, expressed his gratitude for Aliko Dangote’s unwavering support throughout his business journey, vowing to improve his position as the third-ranked distributor in the coming year.
For Mrs. Beatrice Chinwe Okika, CEO of DC Okika Nigeria Ltd, Dangote Cement goes beyond business, as Aliko Dangote has been a pillar of support since the loss of her husband. She described Dangote Cement’s financial assistance in various forms as invaluable and recognized the company’s commitment to ensuring successful partnerships with distributors.
Engr. Festus Abononkhua of Raybale Nigeria Ltd, a distributor in the South-south region, deemed Dangote Cement the best trade partner. He acknowledged his initial hesitation to trade cement but now takes immense pride in distributing Dangote Cement products, as his business has witnessed remarkable growth due to the company’s support.
The success stories shared by these distributors and their profound appreciation for the support received from Dangote Cement and Aliko Dangote highlight the exceptional philanthropy and business acumen of the company.
