Customs Inaugurates New Company Board and Members

The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has inaugurated new chairpersons and members for its four Customs companies.
The Comptroller-General of the NCS, Bashir Adewale Adeniyi, made the known at the Customs Headquarters in Abuja.
The four companies include Customs Service Technical and Hanger Services Limited, Nigeria Customs Service Training and Hotels Limited, Nigeria Customs Service Hospital Limited, and Nigeria Customs Broadcast Network Limited. CGC Adeniyi stated that the registration of these companies is part of the NCS’s commitment to improve the well-being of officers.
According to the CGC Adeniyi, the officers play a crucial role in revenue generation, implementing fiscal policies, and contributing to the economic success of the country. Hence, prioritizing their welfare is of utmost importance.
Adeniyi also highlighted the diverse nature of the NCS’s business ventures, including aviation services, hospitals, healthcare, and broadcasting services. To ensure effective management, board members have been selected from relevant departments, ensuring officers and representatives from the Ministry of Finance are well-equipped to oversee the affairs of these companies.
By following successful examples from ministries and government parastatals, the NCS hopes that the newly inaugurated board members will nurture the companies, making them stable and profit-oriented.
The chairpersons of the companies have been named as ACG AO Alajogun for Nigeria Customs Services’ Technical and Hanger Service Limited, ACG Dappa-Williams for Nigeria Customs Service Training and Hotels Limited, ACG Ibrahim Alfa for Nigeria Customs Service Hospital Limited, and Comptroller Kamal Muhammad for Nigeria Customs Broadcasting Network Limited.
With representatives from the Ministry of Finance serving as members and representatives from the Directorate of Legal Services acting as secretaries, CGC Adeniyi charged the board members to effectively manage the companies and remain committed to their duties and responsibilities.
Adeniyi charged, “members of the boards of these different companies to see to the effective management of the companies and to be focused on discharging their duties and responsibilities. You are assured of my support and guidance at all times.”
The NCS is confident that the newly inaugurated board members will contribute to the growth and success of the customs companies, ultimately benefiting the officers and the overall functionality of the NCS.
