Bagudu resumes as minister, vows to achieve renewed hope agenda

The new Minister of Budget and Economic Planning Senator Abubakar Bagudu, has pledged to unleash the potential of the ministry’s human resources to achieve the aims of President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
During his first day in the role as minister, Senator Bagudu said various agencies would be able to operate in line with their mandate as defined by legislation, with the National Bureau of Statistics developing a roadmap for alignment with sector targets and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Bagudu while acknowledging that the economy is in transition following the removal of fuel subsidies, also called for deep reflection on policy and strategic responses.
According to the minister, “in coming months, there is a heavy lifting to be done. I will work meticulously to leverage on the enormous human resources of the Ministry, its parastatals to unlock the potentials of our country and achieve the noble agenda of President Bola Tinubu’s administration.”
He urged staff to work together and assured them that he would welcome input that could lead to recovery.
