Dangote Industries Limited is set to take centre stage at the 2026 Nasarawa Trade Fair, where it will showcase its flagship Dangote Refinery and Petrochemical Company alongside a range of its industrial products and long-term development plans.
The trade fair, scheduled to open on April 20 in Lafia, will be declared open by Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State, with the Dangote Group serving as the major sponsor of the event.
According to a statement issued by the company’s spokesman, Anthony Chiejina, several business units under the group will participate in the exhibition, presenting products that span key sectors of the Nigerian economy. These include cement, sugar, salt and seasonings, fertiliser, packaging and commercial vehicles.
The company is also expected to present its Vision 2030 strategy, which focuses on advancing industrial growth and innovation across Africa. The initiative aims to deepen local production and strengthen value chains to support economic development.
Speaking on the company’s involvement, the Regional Director and Senior Adviser to the Group President, Fatima Wali Abdurrahman, described Nasarawa State as an important location for the group’s investment plans.
“It is home to Dangote’s Nasarawa Sugar Company Limited. When completed, the project will rank among the largest sugar investments on the continent,” she said.
She added that the trade fair offers an opportunity for the company to connect directly with investors, business owners and members of the public who are interested in its operations. A help desk will also be set up at the venue to respond to enquiries and provide information about the group’s activities.
The event, organised under the theme focused on strengthening industrial linkages and inclusive growth, is expected to attract stakeholders from across different sectors of the economy.
In his remarks, the Chairman of the Nasarawa State chapter of the Nigeria Association of Small-Scale Industrialists (NASSI), Nidan Sambo Manasseh, said the theme of the fair aligns with the vision of Aliko Dangote, whose focus on industrialisation and local production continues to shape the country’s economic direction.
“We share the vision of building strong links between small businesses and large industries. This partnership is helping to connect micro, small and medium enterprises to structured value chains and promote inclusive growth,” he said.
Manasseh explained that the third edition of the trade fair is designed not only as an exhibition platform but also as a driver of business and human capital development.
He pointed to the Empowerment Skill Acquisition Programme as one of the key components of this year’s event. The initiative, scheduled to run between July and December, is expected to train about 2,000 participants across the 13 local government areas of the state.
“The programme is structured as a mobile training system that moves from one local government to another to ensure wider participation at the grassroots,” he said.
He added that the broader goal is to align the growth of small businesses with large-scale industrial systems, creating stronger economic linkages that can support sustainable development in the state and beyond.
