Dangote Group Shares Big Plans for 2030 at Kaduna Trade Fair
By Patience Ikpeme
Business leaders, investors, and everyday Nigerians at the 47th Kaduna International Trade Fair have received a clear picture of where the Dangote Group is headed over the next few years.
During a special event held for the company at the fair, Fatima Wali Abdurrahman, who represented the group, spoke about the “Vision 2030” roadmap. This plan is designed to make the company a global leader in manufacturing while helping Nigeria stand on its own feet by producing what it needs locally.
Mrs. Wali Abdurrahman explained that the goal of Vision 2030 is to create more jobs, bring in new technology, and grow the network of businesses that work with the company. She said that by investing heavily in cement, fertilizer, sugar, salt, and oil processing, the group wants to make sure Nigeria stops depending so much on goods brought in from other countries.
She noted that this plan fits perfectly with the government’s efforts to grow the economy and make Nigerian products more competitive. She also made it clear that the company wants to work closely with small business owners, distributors, and local suppliers because real growth must include everyone.
“At the Dangote Group, local content development is not a slogan, it is the foundation of our business philosophy. We believe that Nigeria’s prosperity must be built by Nigerians, using Nigerian resources, and for the benefit of Nigerian communities,” she said.
The company also used the occasion to show off new sizes of Dangote Sugar, including smaller 100g sachets and 25kg bags, to give customers more choices.
The President of the Kaduna Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (KADCCIMA), Farouk Suleiman, praised the company during the event. He described the Dangote Group as more than just a business, calling it a symbol of how well a company can perform in the industry. He thanked the group for always supporting the trade fair and believing in the importance of trade and networking.
Different parts of the business, including Dangote Cement, Sugar, Salt, Fertiliser, and their vehicle companies like Peugeot and Sinotruk, all had offices at the fair. Staff were on ground at helpdesks to answer questions from people interested in doing business with them.
