Nigeria’s Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Mr. Wale Edun, has led a high-level economic delegation to a business roundtable hosted by Citi at its headquarters in São Paulo, Brazil.

The event, held on the sidelines of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s state visit, served as a platform to attract Brazilian investment and strengthen economic ties between the two countries.

In his address, Minister Edun presented President Tinubu’s economic reform agenda, which aims to restore fiscal stability, attract private capital, and drive inclusive growth.

He pointed to Nigeria’s vast market potential, its demographic dividend, and the government’s commitment to infrastructure, energy transition, and technological innovation as key factors for long-term prosperity.

“Our priority is to foster an enabling environment where global investors and Nigerian enterprise can thrive together,” the Minister said. “Brazil is a natural partner in this journey.”

The Nigerian delegation also included the Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment, Dr. Jumoke Oduwole, and the Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Dr. Olayemi Cardoso. They engaged with Brazilian corporate leaders, investors, and Citi executives to discuss ways to increase bilateral investment flows and advance South-South economic cooperation.

The Business Roundtable is a key part of Nigeria’s effort to deepen its partnership with Brazil while also promoting President Tinubu’s “Renewed Hope Agenda” for economic transformation.
