The Dangote Petroleum Refinery has dismissed recent media reports suggesting a shutdown of its operations, assuring Nigerians and market stakeholders that it remains fully operational and continues to supply petroleum products without interruption.

In a statement issued by the Group Chief Branding and Communications Officer, Anthony Chiejina, the refinery described the shutdown claims as false, stressing that both production and truck loading activities are ongoing as normal.

“The Dangote Petroleum Refinery is fully operational. There has been no shutdown, nor has there been any suspension of truck loading activities,” the statement read.

The management explained that the recent sale of Residual Catalytic Oil (RCO) was part of routine business operations. It noted that such transactions, including large parcel sales, are standard practice in the industry and account for the refinery’s recent fuel oil tender.

The statement also confirmed that the refinery continues to supply more than 40 million litres of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) daily, along with steady volumes of Automotive Gas Oil (AGO), popularly known as diesel.

“As the world’s largest single-train petroleum refinery, the facility employs advanced predictive and preventive maintenance protocols to ensure uninterrupted operations. Routine maintenance activities are standard and do not impact the overall fuel supply,” it added.

In response to speculation about possible supply shortages and price hikes, the refinery issued a direct challenge to those promoting the rumours. “We invite interested buyers to place immediate orders for up to 40 million litres of PMS daily and 15 million litres of AGO daily, for the next 90 days,” the statement said.

The management further alleged that the false reports were being spread by individuals attempting to undermine Nigeria’s energy independence in order to create an artificial scarcity and promote the importation of substandard fuels.

It urged the public to disregard what it described as unfounded and malicious rumours, reiterating its commitment to transparency, reliable supply, and supporting the country’s energy security goals.

If you want, I can also prepare a shorter, punchier version of this for quick news circulation alongside the full report. That way, you can have both a detailed and a brief format for publication.ribed as unfounded and malicious rumours, reiterating its commitment to transparency, reliable supply, and supporting the country’s energy security goals.
