AfDB Launches New Country Strategy for Nigeria
…Pledges Support for Key Projects

The African Development Bank (AfDB) has launched a new Country Strategy Paper for Nigeria, detailing its commitment to transformative projects, including the second phase of the National Agricultural Growth Scheme (NAGS) and the Special Agro-Industrial Processing Zones (SAPZ).
Dr. Abdul Kamara, Director General of the AfDB’s Nigeria Country Department, made this announcement during a meeting with the Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Mr. Wale Edun, in Abuja on Wednesday.
The meeting aimed to deepen collaboration between the AfDB and Nigeria on economic growth and development priorities.
The AfDB also communicated its support for youth entrepreneurship through initiatives like the Youth Enterprise Investment Fund.
Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Mr. Wale Edun, expressed his appreciation to the AfDB for its essential role in Nigeria’s economic revitalization.
Edun acknowledged the AfDB’s contributions, pointing to the Bank’s vital role in driving Nigeria’s economic growth through agriculture, infrastructure, and youth empowerment. He noted that the AfDB’s partnership with Nigeria is crucial, especially in these key sectors.
