Dangote Industries Limited has strengthened its position as Africa’s leading conglomerate by using modern technology to improve production and sales across all its companies.
This was revealed by Fatima Wali Abdurrahman, Senior Advisor to the President of Dangote Group, at the 46th Kaduna International Trade Fair.
Speaking during the Dangote Special Day at the event, Abdurrahman explained that the company’s digital transformation has made business operations faster and more efficient. She highlighted that the company has automated its manufacturing and sales processes, especially in its cement plants. “What used to take days now takes minutes to accomplish,” she said.
The theme of this year’s trade fair was Promoting Efficiency in Manufacturing, Trade, and Agriculture through Digital Transformation, and Dangote Group was one of the main sponsors.
Abdurrahman noted that advanced technology is now integrated into all Dangote businesses, including cement, sugar, salt, fertilizer, petrochemicals, and agriculture. This has helped the company maintain its leadership position in every sector it operates.
She added that customers have responded positively to the company’s digital ordering system, known as the DMS Application. Available on both Android and iOS platforms, the app allows registered customers in the cement, sugar, and salt sectors to order products anytime and anywhere.
In the automotive sector, Dangote Peugeot Automobile Nigeria (DPAN) has also adopted advanced technology. The plant now produces 120 vehicles daily, with an annual capacity of 44,000 units. Models assembled at the plant include the Peugeot Landtrek pickup, 3008, 5008, and 508 GT. According to Abdurrahman, this local assembly reduces reliance on imported vehicles and offers competitively priced cars.
Earlier, the President of the Kaduna Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines, and Agriculture (KADCCIMA), Rev. Ishaya Idi, praised Dangote Group for creating jobs in Nigeria and maintaining a long-standing partnership with the Chamber. He urged Nigerians to support the company, noting that the trade fair has provided a platform for both Dangote Group and KADCCIMA to strengthen their relationship.
Dangote Group is the largest private-sector employer in Nigeria. During the fair, the Federal Government recognized its key role in advancing the country’s industrialization. Representing President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the Minister of Industry, Trade, and Investment, Dr. Jumoke Oduwole, the Acting Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Dr. Dafang I. Sale, commended Dangote Group for its contributions to the nation.
Speaking to journalists, KADCCIMA’s Director General, Alhaji Usman Saulawa, described Dangote Group as a driving force behind Nigeria’s economy. He emphasized that the company’s impact extends beyond Kaduna State, benefiting both the national and global economies.
Saulawa also highlighted the strong collaboration between Kaduna State Government, Dangote Group, and other companies, calling it the “Unique Selling Point” and a major advantage of this year’s trade fair.
