Nigerian Teenager Yaqub Usman-Malah Signs with Portuguese Club

19-year-old Nigerian footballer, Yaqub Usman-Malah, has signed a professional contract with Brito Sporting Club of Portugal.
Yaqub, a promising young talent, signed the contract on Saturday, January 4, 2025, after impressing at Brooke College Football Academy in the United Kingdom.
At Brooke College, Yaqub demonstrated exceptional skills, scoring an impressive 17 goals in 32 matches while maintaining a remarkable injury-free record across 116 training days.
His talent was recognized by his coach, Tomasz Wasylik, who described Yaqub as a “well-liked person,” a “role model” for his teammates, and a “good tactical player” with strong technical skills and the ability to play in multiple positions.
Wasylik highlighted Yaqub’s performance in National School Cup competitions, further emphasizing his potential.
“While looking forward to the display of his unarguable skills and boundless stamina, we wish Yaqub a successful career and a place in the halls of football greatness across the globe,” said Yaqub’s father, Mr. Usman Malah, in a statement released to the media.
