Workers of the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) on Thursday gathered at the agency’s headquarters in Abuja to celebrate the Executive Chairman, Dr. Zacch Adedeji, for his impactful welfare initiatives.
The jubilant employees, armed with placards bearing messages such as “We love you, Zacch” and “You’re a man of the people,” assembled early in the morning to appreciate Adedeji, who has been in office for over a year. The event featured songs, dances, and chants as they awaited his arrival.
A statement by Sikiru Akinola, Adedeji’s Technical Assistant (Print Media), said that the staff expressed gratitude for significant welfare improvements under Adedeji’s leadership, including salary increases and other benefits.
One staff member described Adedeji as a leader who listens and cares for his team. “Zacch Adedeji is deliberate and intentional about the welfare of his staff. He increased our salaries without much publicity, showing his commitment to ensuring we are motivated to meet our N19.4 trillion target for 2024,” the employee said.
The statement further noted that the staff union lauded Adedeji for fostering a harmonious working environment, calling his tenure unprecedented in terms of staff welfare.
Adedeji, visibly moved by the warm reception, waved to the cheering crowd and expressed gratitude for their support. His tenure continues to be celebrated for its emphasis on staff well-being and motivation.
