Africa’s richest man and President of the Dangote Group, Aliko Dangote, has been named the CEO of the year by Economic Confidential magazine. The prestigious award was conferred on the business mogul in recognition of his immense contributions to job creation and economic development in Nigeria.
Presenting the award on Tuesday in Abuja, the Chairman of Image Merchant Limited, parent company of Economic Confidential, Sule Yau Sule, lauded Dangote for his unwavering commitment to the Nigerian project. He emphasized that the industrialist’s impact on the nation’s economy is immeasurable.
Dangote’s latest recognition adds to a growing list of accolades both locally and internationally. Earlier this year, he was bestowed with the National Order of the Lion, Senegal’s highest civilian honor, for his significant contributions to the West African nation.
The Dangote Group, renowned as one of Nigeria’s largest taxpayers and employers, continues to be a cornerstone of the nation’s economy.
Sharing in the spotlight at the awards ceremony were Vice President Kashim Shettima and the Comptroller General of the Nigeria Customs Service.
It is worth noting that Dangote is a previous recipient of Nigeria’s second-highest national honor, the Grand Commander of the Order of the Niger (GCON).
Due to prior commitments, Dangote was represented at the event by Mr. Jibrin Abubakar of the Branding and Corporate Communication Department.
