NASENI Equips Staff for Biogas and Biomethanol Plant Design
By Patience Ikpeme
The National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure (NASENI) is currently training 20 of its staff on the design and operation of biogas and biomethanol plants. The five-day intensive training, in collaboration with SRH Berlin, Germany, aims to enhance the agency’s capacity in renewable energy technology.
The training covers various aspects of the design process, including process control, CAD/CAM, material science, methanol synthesis, hydrogen production, and safety principles. NASENI believes this knowledge transfer will enable the agency to effectively design and manage biogas and biomethanol plants.
Dr. Chika Ezeanyanaso, Deputy Director of NASENI’s Nano Science Department, emphasized the importance of the training in equipping staff with the necessary skills to drive the agency’s renewable energy initiatives. She highlighted that the training is a crucial step towards achieving NASENI’s goal of developing a model biogas plant design.
Engr. Anas Yadiz, SA to the EVC on Science and Engineering Commercialisation, expressed NASENI’s commitment to fostering innovation and leading the nation towards a sustainable future through the adoption of biogas and biomethanol technologies.
The training, facilitated by a team of experts from SRH Berlin, Germany, is expected to empower NASENI staff with cutting-edge knowledge and skills to contribute to Nigeria’s renewable energy landscape.
