Price of diesel climbs higher in April – NBS

Nigerians paid more for procure a liter of Automotive Gas Oil (Diesel) in April, 2023 according to National Bureau of Statistics.

It put average retail price paid for a litre of AGO at N842.25, an increase of 28.69% from N654.46 per litre recorded in the corresponding month of the previous year.

On month-on-month basis, this increased by 0.17% from N840.81 per litre reported in March 2023.

State profile analysis of the NBS report shows that, the highest average price of AGO in April 2023 was recorded in Adamawa at N980.33, followed by Bauchi at N934.46, and Borno at N900.50.

On the other hand, the lowest price was recorded in Bayelsa at N708.04, followed by Kebbi at N773.33 and Anambra at N773.56.

Further analysis by zone showed that the North-East paid the highest price for AGO of N895.42, while the South-South recorded the lowest price of N807.59.
