CBN postpones MPC meeting
…. CBN collaborates on strategies to accelerate financial inclusion

The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has announced the postponement of it’s 293rd Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) meeting scheduled for 25th and 26th (Monday and Tuesday) of September 2023.
This was disclosed in a press statement signed by the Director, Corporate Communications of the CBN, Dr Isa Abdulmumin, on Thursday in Abuja.
“We regret any inconvenience this change may cause our stakeholders and the general public” he stated.
He also said a new date will be communicated in due course.
Meanwhile, the CBN and partner agencies within the National Financial Inclusion Governance Committee will be collaborating to host the International Financial Inclusion Conference (#IFIC2023).
They will discuss strategies for accelerating financial inclusion through financial technology, in Africa.
Also, insightful topics such as Fintech-driven last mile solutions, leveraging big data and artificial intelligence, inclusive product innovation (non interest finance), leveraging payments systems to scale financial inclusion in excluded segments-women, rural, youth and MSMEs, consumer protection, fraud and data privacy and lot more.
All these discussions will be done at the second edition of the International Financial Inclusion Conference (IFIC)2023 hosted by CBN and it’s partners.
The event is slated to hold from 5th to 6th October, 2023 with the theme “Financial Inclusion for all: Global insights for local Impact”.
Key note speakers at the conference include, Dr Chea Serey, Governor of the National Bank of Cambodia, Dr. Alfred Hanning, Executive Director , Alliance for Financial Inclusion and Dr. Reza Baqir , former Governor of the state Bank of Pakistan.
